Introduction

ecologOne is a local software solution running on Windows or on devices that have integrated ecologOne in their firmware. The main purpose of ecologOne is the configuration of physically connected devices to your pc or device.

Key features are the software update , backup and restore , changing network settings and configuration of services. Furthermore ecologOne offers device specific settings like PLC settings for controllers or screen settings of a ifm ecomatDisplay. All of these functionalities can be used via an Ethernet or CAN interface.

All devices that have integrated the ecologConnect protocol are capable of being connected to ecologOne. Some examples are the ecomatController, ecomatBasic, BasicSystem and ecomatDisplay 4.3".

What is ecologConnect?

ecologConnect is the protocol that defines the standardized set of features and information that must be provided by devices, like a control system or a display. This standardization ensures uniform communication, interaction and interoperability between devices and external systems.

The main advantage of ecologConnect is its ability to establish a consistent communication process across all compliant devices. This simplifies integration and reduces the complexity of managing device operations.

Benefit of ecologOne and ecologConnect

Simplified Integration

The ecologConnect protocol removes the need for custom communication methods, enabling easier integration of devices into existing systems.

Reduced Complexity

By standardizing procedures such as software updates and information delivery, ecologConnect reduces the complexity of device management for developers and operators.

Scalability

The protocol ensures that as new devices are added, they can be integrated and managed using the same processes, enhancing scalability and future-proofing the ecosystem.

Use cases of ecologOne
