Connectivity

In this chapter of the CR3171 WebUI manual, we're going to run through all the options available in configuring the different interfaces the device offers.

From the landing page, navigate to the Connectivity section.

Network

Within the sidebar, within the section connecivity there are two main topics, ` Network ` and ` Secomea SiteManager Embedded `. In this part we will have a look what one could configure in the `Network` section.

Network connections

Within the network section there are two main items, Network connections and Network Profiles .

Let's first have a look at the Network connections section, where one can see in a quick view which interfaces are enabled or disabled and how particularly the ethernet and Wi-Fi interfaces are configured, as bridge or not.

Cellular interface

Enable or Disable the cellular interface of the device

Operation modes
  • Virtual Ethernet Wi-Fi bridging

This option allows to enable or disable the bridging of Ethernet and WiFi. This makes the two interfaces act as one, allowing wired and wireless access to the same network. When bridging is enabled, all other individual Ethernet and WiFi profiles become locked and disabled, because the corresponding interfaces now below to the bridge. Also, should the Ethernet or WiFi device be disabled when bridging becomes enabled, then these interfaces will be reenabled automatically. This needs to happen, because bridging requires both interfaces to be present and active.

  • Separated Ethernet and Wi-Fi interfaces

Refers to configuring a system to use distinct and independent network connections for Ethernet and Wi-Fi, allowing each interface to handle different network traffic without bridging or sharing connections between them.

Ethernet interface

Enable or disable the physical ethernet interface of the device.

This item is only visible when the Virtual Ethernet Wi-Fi bridge is Disabled.

Wi-Fi interface

Enable or disable the Wi-Fi interface of the device.

This item is only visible when the Virtual Ethernet Wi-Fi bridge is Disabled.

Network Profiles

The Network Profiles section allow you to setup all the different interfaces on the device. In this section we go detailed through each section.
