EPS Bearer settings

The EPS Bearer settings section allows advanced configuration of the initial bearer used during LTE network attachment.

Enable customer initial EPS Bearer

Options: Enable or Disable

Default: Disabled

Description: When enabled, this option allows the use of a custom configuration for the initial EPS bearer instead of the default provided by the network.

EPS Bearer Access Point Name

Type: string

Default: <empty>

Description: This option specifies the APN to be used for the initial bearer. This is typically required for accessing specific services or operator-defined data profiles during network registration.

Allow IPv4 only

Options: Enable or Disable

Default: Disabled

Description: The Allow IPv4 Only setting restricts the EPS bearer to use only IPv4 addressing, even if the network supports IPv6 or dual-stack (IPv4/IPv6). This can be useful for:

  • Ensuring compatibility with IPv4-only applications or backend systems.
  • Avoiding potential issues in environments where IPv6 connectivity is unstable or unsupported.
  • Meeting specific operator or deployment requirements that mandate IPv4-only data sessions.

When this option is enabled, the device will request and use only an IPv4 address during bearer establishment.
